Ashtanga

Structure, a bit of acrobatics, memorisation, strong focus on control of the breath and energy centres in the body, and lots of sweating and discipline. 

These are the keywords for Ashtanga, the most fast-paced and physical cousin in the yoga family. 

Hatha

The origin of all the different branches of yoga. Soft, slow and gentle. Stretches and balances, takes its time and is often done in combination with seated breathing exercises and followed by meditation.
